Disclosures (scaffold)

The regulatory, professional, and fiduciary disclosures that apply to MicroTax's services and the information on this site. Last updated: 24 May 2026.

01 · Not personalized advice

What this site is and isn't

The information on this website, including articles, calculators, methodology descriptions, and case studies, is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute personalized tax, legal, investment, financial, or insurance advice. Personalized advice requires an engaged client relationship and review of your specific situation.

Calculators on this site produce illustrative estimates based on simplified federal assumptions. They do not account for state taxes, NIIT, AMT, phase-outs, specific deductions, or many other factors that affect real outcomes. Estimates are not guarantees and individual results vary.

02 · No fiduciary relationship implied

When fiduciary duties attach

Use of this website does not establish a fiduciary, professional, or advisory relationship between you and MicroTax. A fiduciary advisory relationship is established only through an executed engagement letter that defines the scope, fees, and responsibilities of the engagement.

03 · Illustrative figures

All dollar figures are illustrative

Dollar figures presented on this site, in case studies, calculator outputs, articles, testimonials, and elsewhere, are illustrative examples. They reflect outcomes that have been achieved by some clients in some situations, but they are not predictions, projections, or guarantees of similar outcomes for any specific reader's situation.

Tax savings, retirement projections, and similar quantitative claims depend on factors specific to each client: income level, filing status, state of residence, age, health, time horizon, market conditions, regulatory changes, and many others. Past results are not indicative of future outcomes.

04 · §7702 Tax-Free Retirement Account disclosures

Specific disclosures for TFRA content

The §7702 Tax-Free Retirement Account (TFRA) is a permanent life insurance contract structured to maximize cash accumulation under IRS §7702 corridor rules. Like all permanent life insurance, a TFRA involves: (a) policy expenses including cost of insurance (COI), which are particularly high in the first several years; (b) underwriting requirements that may result in modified or declined coverage based on health; (c) surrender charges that produce a loss of principal if the policy is surrendered in the first 10-15 years; (d) non-guaranteed elements including crediting rates that may differ from illustrated rates over time; (e) the possibility of policy lapse if premiums are not paid as scheduled or if policy loans are not properly managed.

A §7702 contract becoming a Modified Endowment Contract (MEC), through failure of the 7-pay test or other premium-pattern violations, produces materially different tax treatment, including ordinary-income taxation of policy loans and potential pre-59½ penalties. MEC status is permanent and cannot be reversed.

The TFRA structure is not appropriate for all individuals. Suitability depends on age, health, income, time horizon, and broader financial situation. We strongly recommend consultation with a qualified §7702 specialist before funding any policy. See the TFRA caveats article for additional risk discussion.

05 · Regulatory status

Our regulatory posture

[Counsel: this section should explicitly state the firm's regulatory status, whether MicroTax is a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), whether Reenu Cherian holds individual licenses (CPA, CFP, ChFC, insurance licenses, etc.), the firm's Form ADV reference, any state registrations, and the specific scope of activities each registration covers. Without this section, the disclosures page does not satisfy SEC, state, or professional-society requirements.]

06 · Compensation and conflicts of interest

How we are paid, and what that means

[Counsel: this section should describe the firm's fee model (engagement-based, scope-based, hourly, etc.) and any compensation MicroTax or its specialists receive from third parties (e.g., insurance carrier commissions on §7702 policies designed by network specialists). Conflicts of interest, if any, should be disclosed here per applicable regulations.]

07 · Testimonials and case studies

How we present client experiences

Testimonials on this site reflect the personal experience of individual clients with permission. Identifying details (names, photographs once added, specific firm names) are used only with explicit consent. Testimonials are not paid endorsements. Individual experiences do not predict the outcomes you would receive in your own engagement.

Case studies on this site, including the For-CPAs case studies, are based on real engagements but are anonymized and may aggregate or modify details to protect client confidentiality. They are presented to illustrate typical outcomes and the realistic range of engagement results, not as predictions of similar outcomes for any specific reader.
