Privacy Policy (scaffold)
How MicroTax collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal information of website visitors and clients. Last updated: 24 May 2026.
What we collect, and when
Information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, employer, role, income range, and any other information you submit through inquiry forms, the discovery-call booking process, or direct email correspondence.
Information collected automatically: standard web analytics data including IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, time spent on each page, and approximate geographic location derived from IP. This information is collected via [analytics provider, to be specified by counsel].
Information from third parties: if you book a discovery call via Calendly, we receive the information you provide to Calendly (name, email, scheduling preferences). We do not purchase contact lists or receive personal information from data brokers.
What we do with the information collected
Personal information is used to respond to inquiries, schedule and conduct discovery calls, deliver advisory services to engaged clients, and improve the website. We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for advertising-targeting purposes outside our own retargeting.
[Counsel: this section should also describe any marketing-list use, the lawful basis under GDPR if applicable, and the firm's posture on automated decision-making.]
The cookies this site uses
This site uses essential cookies for functionality (e.g., session management, form submission) and analytical cookies to understand visitor behavior. We do not use third-party advertising cookies as of the date of this policy.
[Counsel: this section should also include the specific cookie consent mechanism, the categorization of cookies under relevant regulations (GDPR, CCPA, ePrivacy), and instructions for visitors to opt out.]
Services we integrate with
This site integrates with the following third-party services: Calendly (booking), [analytics provider], [email provider], and [hosting provider]. Each service has its own privacy policy governing its handling of data. We have selected providers with appropriate privacy postures, but visitors who interact with these services are subject to each provider's terms.
What you can ask us to do
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information; to object to processing; or to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@microtax.com.
[Counsel: this section should enumerate specific rights under the applicable regulations (CCPA, GDPR, etc.) and describe the firm's response process and timelines.]
How long we keep data, and how we protect it
Inquiries that do not progress to an engagement are retained for [period] and then deleted. Engaged-client information is retained for the duration of the engagement and for [period] thereafter, consistent with applicable record-retention requirements for financial-services firms. Reasonable technical and organizational measures are in place to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
